Leaping into the world of detailing !

What a day to start this - February 29, 2012 - the leap day. I am starting my first foray into auto detailing today, so I am aptly naming this blog as the "n00b detailer's paradize". I hope to inspire others like me, who fear anything car, and pay $$ to get small scratches fixed, or making the car shine.

I ordered my first order of Optimum No Rinse (ONR) 2012 formula (some people call it ONR v3) today from DetailedImage.com. I expect to receive the order next Wednesday - March 7, 2012.

I don't expect to make money from this hobby (other than few affiliate links here and there) - I will mostly be detailing my own car infrequently over the weekends. There are two immediate things on my TODO list:

1. Clean the car: There is some construction work going on at my workplace, which makes my brand new 2012 Nissan Altima very dirty every week. It's time to clean it weekly until the construction finishes. Over the next few weeks, I will be cleaning my car using ONR in two ways: as a rinseless wash, and as a quick detailer.
2. Fix some rock chips: I accidentally had some paint transfer, scratches, and chips on the bumper (see picture below) as I hit into a pillar while pulling into a narrow parking spot. I am determined to fix this.
